Delta Air Lines has once again been named an honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light, marking its eighth consecutive year receiving the prestigious recognition as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S. Delta is also proud to be named the Industrials Sector Leader for the third year in a row and the only commercial airline on the list.

Delta earned particularly high marks in the Integration category, demonstrating that community engagement is embedded throughout the company’s operations—from its people and culture to its external partnerships and long-term business strategy.

This April, employees worldwide came together to lead with heart, completing over 100 volunteer events in honor of 100 years of flight.

“Delta Air Lines is honored to be recognized as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S. by Points of Light for the eighth year in a row and to be the only airline to receive this recognition,” said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director of Community Engagement at Delta. “For 100 years, we have strived to meaningfully impact the communities where we live, work and serve. Whether it’s empowering youth through education, donating life-saving blood or working toward a more sustainable future, our people are united by a purpose-driven culture that believes in connecting people to their potential around the world.”

Now in its thirteenth year, The Civic 50 has become the leading benchmark for corporate social responsibility and civic engagement in the U.S. The program recognizes companies with at least $1 billion in annual U.S. revenue that are setting the standard for corporate citizenship, evaluated across four key dimensions: resource investment, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies and systems, and impact measurement.

Giving back has been core to Delta's culture for nearly 100 years. Here are some of the ways Delta and its people gave back to communities across the world in 2024.

“In an ever-evolving landscape, companies are looking to ensure that they can meet the needs of their communities, customers, and stakeholders,” said Jennifer Sirangelo, president and CEO, Points of Light. “Companies like Delta Air Lines are leading the way in showing how social impact benefits their employee’s well-being, strengthens the communities where they do business, and brings value and meaning to their work. Their efforts provide a model for others looking to bring the benefits of volunteering and social impact to their workforce and they’re extremely deserving of this recognition.”

The Civic 50 survey, administered by True Impact, is the only ranking system that exclusively measures corporate community engagement. Companies are evaluated through a rigorous, data-based survey designed to measure how deeply social impact is integrated across their business.
